Many dancers ask, “Why do we stretch in EVERY SINGLE DANCE CLASS??” Although it may seem useless, repetitive, and time-consuming, stretching is extremely important for our bodies, not only as dancers, but as athletes in general.
Being flexible helps us to improve our dancing ability, but also decreases our risk of injury and helps keep our muscles lean, strong, and healthy. So when we stretch every week, in every dance class, be sure to remind yourself of the many benefits your body is receiving. 🙂 And don’t forget to stretch at home, too!!
